One of my favorite holidays of the year is the birthday of our Nation! I feel very blessed to be born an American citizen and it is something I do not take for granted. As Oprah says, “If you are a woman born in THIS country, then you are one of the luckiest women in the world!”

AMA Dance Student on July 4th.Of course I agree with Oprah. I don’t think a single mom raising three children alone in any other country would have the opportunity to create and own businesses. I know the harder I work, the more opportunity for growth seems to come my way. What I do with that opportunity has always been my choice… a choice so many women around the globe are not presented with.

“Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.” -Thomas Alva Edison

Hard work has never deterred me. When presented with opportunity, I don’t take it, I run with it! For we can only live our life to the fullest if we dream big, work hard and understand that “hoping” is not a strategy. It is up to each of us to grab, then cultivate the seeds of opportunity.
