On Saturday, December 20, 2014, AMA Dance & Music School presented two full-length music recitals at the Des Plaines Public Library to a capacity crowd!
The first recital opened with seven of our Music FunTime students (ages 2-6) singing and playing musical instruments. Our young musicians ended their 3-song medley with Jingle Bells! This was the very first time all of our Music FunTime students appeared on stage in front of an audience. These children mastered their performance like any seasoned musical group. We are SO proud of them!
Our Music FunTime students have learned to hold and play 6 different percussion instruments already! And they are barely 2 years old! We are very excited to show our families how much they retain and how much fun music is for them!
Over 40 students performed musical pieces ranging from holiday favorites of Santa Claus is Coming to Town and Up on the Housetop, to more traditional pieces such as What Child is This? One of the highlights of the recital was Katie Mueller, age 15, performing Scott Joplin’s Maple Leaf Rag. That is a challenging piece for the most advanced pianist!
A BIG “Thank You” to AMA’s instructors, Jessica Walker, Dan Ruiz and Greg Luberda for the fine job they do with our students. Their passion and love for their students really showed in our recital! We are blessed to work with you all at AMA!
I am sure this video will put a smile on your face today! We are extremely proud of all our music students at AMA. Merry Christmas!
