I am really excited to post on AMA’s official blog!

I’ve been a teacher at AMA for 4 1/2 years, and have absolutely fallen in love with the amazing staff and students! I’ve been teaching dance for over 13 years, teaching in Virginia, Washington D.C., New York, Florida, and Chicago. This studio is hands down the best one I’ve ever worked at. The teachers are not only proficient in their fields, but are open and encouraging to ALL levels and ages of students.

I know it goes without saying, but the students at AMA are the best! Coming to class and teaching is the highlight of my week. (Really, it is!) And I love the addition of so many boys classes over the past few years. I’m excited to teach them every week and I’m so impressed by how quickly they are learning and how much fun they have in class.

I know that every student here is a superstar, and I love watching them perform on stage! The recitals are professional and extremely well put together. Each year we have a different theme and I’m especially excited for this year’s AMA recital which will feature 48 current and past TV shows! And just in case you haven’t heard, Save the Date! Our recital will be June 8 & 9, 2013 at Maine East. Make plans to attend! It’ll be AMAzing!

I wish I could tell EVERYone how great this studio is, and how much genuine enthusiasm Miss Ann Marie has about every student and every class taught here. She is an amazing dancer and choreographer, an amazing studio owner, and an amazing person to work for! This is first studio I have ever worked in that celebrates EACH student and staff member’s individual birthday with a gift, a handwritten card, and in an announcement on the wall where everyone can see it! I’ve truly never met anyone who puts so much effort into brightening and enriching the lives of others.

And I love that AMA throws parties and holds events outside of the classroom too (like our recent luau!), hosting lock-ins and pizza parties – and we even cook out over the summer! I believe these events help establish great student/teacher relationships that are unlike any I’ve ever seen. The teachers care about each student and each family. They go out of their way to establish personal relationships and meet the needs of everyone that comes here. In my experience, that’s not something you find anywhere else.

Our students and their families are always made to feel welcome here at AMA. And I feel like this is my home away from home.

It is truly my pleasure to work here.
